It’s no secret that Z-Trip is a BPM favorite. Guy killed it at our 12-year anniversary party. But that’s not much of a shocker…when doesn’t he have his way with the dancefloor. We’re also big fans of the Obey machine. They recently teamed up, along with MSTRKRFT, for the Soundclash of the Titans mix. It’s dope. If you haven’t heard it, Lost In A Supermarket has a link for a free download, check out here.
The MSTRKRFT boys aren’t around this weekend, but Z-Trip and Shepard Fairey are teaming up once again, this time for an Obama benefit. It’s tonight people, do a little political good will and go to the Echoplex. The first 100 people in line will get an autographed Obama “Hope” poster, which was of course designed by Shepard himself. The original was recently auctioned off for 108K. The shot you’re looking at above is from Shep’s private studio while he was making the poster. This is the first time anyone is seeing this, btw. Anywho…their collaboration doesn’t end tonight with a hangover. I’m told that they’re opening a pop-up gallery in Denver in cahoots with MoveOn for the DNC. Stay tuned; I’ll bring you more info about that next week as soon as I get it. “Anything I can do to put Obama in the Whitehouse; or even just raise awareness I’m down.” Us too Mr. Trip, us too.
