Two Decks in One

The DN-HS5500 is one of the first media players that can elegantly handle all of your DJ needs. With a flip of a switch, the unit gives you true, dual-deck control of separate music files, including the ability to play your files from a broad range of storage devices such as USB hard drives, flash drives, iPods and other music devices. The internal loading slot for CDs can be customized to house a built-in internal HD to house all your music within the unit. Another stand-out feature is its USB connectivity to a computer/laptop, allowing you to use the DN-HS5500 as a USB 2.0 audio interface (24 bit soundcard) with two separate audio outputs for each of its dual-deck modes.

Coupled with its ability to function as a MIDI controller, the DN-HS5500 steps outside of the normal “media player” role and allows you to control your DJ software such as Tracktor, Serato, Ableton and more. Add the fact that it has a dual layer of control and this single unit can control two separate decks within your software, thus eliminating the need for separate audio card and MIDI controller. In addition, thanks to a special D-sync function, users can link two units together via a single RJ-45 cable for master/remote operation. This simple setup allows you to make all peripheral connections to a single unit while having full control of your music drives from either device.

DJs have access to three separate platter effects including brake (adjustable in real time), dump (reverse sound without losing true forward time, like a radio edit) and reverse. Effects on the unit include flanger, filter (low-mid-hi), echo, tail echo and echo loop with full control over parameter controls via dry/mix dials.

Playlist creation features the ability to create, edit and store three separate playlist categories and load them as hot lists for playback. Intuitive file navigation features handle all your music file searches.

What more do you want? It plays and serves as two players with the flip of a switch, houses your music with its optional built-in drive, serves as a soundcard with outputs for two decks, and stands in as a double MIDI controller for all your software DJ needs.
