Mighty Mic is a 9-day event at UCLA, consisting with Genocide Awareness Week, ending in a Human Rights Awareness Concert. Season Shot
The Swiss Army Knife and iPhone reflect our love of hyper-efficient utility—a single compact device that ably performs a number of tasks. The gun has typically only done one thing well: putting a bullet in someone or something. You can put a bayonet on it, but otherwise it’s fairly singular. But someone’s figured out how to make the ammunition multi-task. Season Shot both kills and seasons most bird game. Hunters and their kin need no longer worry about cracking teeth on forgotten steel shots. The steel shot has been replaced by a biodegradable flavor pellet and is available in Cajun, lemon pe

Gold Pills
Popular entertainment keeps giving rich people insidious ideas. Although we’re meant to find the lavish excesses of Daddy Warbucks, Scrooge McDuck, Richie Rich and C. Montgomery Burns risible bordering on appalling, their misadventures have no doubt given real life gazillionaires viable methods for spending their (ill-gotten or otherwise) gains. The rich had run out of things to make out of solid gold before comic strips, comic books and cartoons replenished their imaginations. Now counterculture artists Ju$t Another Rich Kid and Tobias Wong are helping the rich waste their money on their wast

Brammo Enertia: Domestic Electric Bike
Tech and green converge for the US-born Brammo Enertia plug-in electric motorcycle. While the auto industry keeps promising electric power for your commute, Brammo delivers. With a racecar-inspired monocoque chassis and a high-torque electric motor powered by lithium batteries, there’s enough juice to ride 45 miles between three-hour charges. And you can blow out your hipster friends on their Vespa scooters with instant acceleration and a top speed of 50 mph. We definitely dig the retro-bike design, too…though you can buy a pretty sweet Ducati for the same $14K price.

The Back-Up
Apart from sitting on the toilet, we are most vulnerable when we are sleeping. Spiders can easily crawl into our gaping mouths. Our fraternity brothers can handily draw a cock and balls in black Magic Marker on our cheek. Our uncles can pull back the covers and gently push down our Underoos without us knowing. Nighttime leaves us open to terrors both imagined and very real. Less benign than the fraternity prank or relative molestation is the home invasion. Get your stuff stolen. Get raped. Get killed. It’s enough to have you watching all the Nightmare On Elm Street movies and taking notes to s
