bpm86 - A-Trak & Chromeo, Girl Talk, DiploIf you haven’t been to Northern California, do it. Nothing really compares to walking through the redwood forest at dawn. Blissful silence, clean air (what a concept), prehistoric like ferns, 2000-year-old trees towering nearly 300 feet—completely unplugging and getting away from the nasty snarl of city life into one off the greatest wonders of the world is a serious jaw dropping experience. Even if you’ve never contemplated life, this’ll definitely serve as a reminder to just how small you really are in this world. I felt like an Ewok, half expecting a dinosaur to come around the corner at any time. A humbling experience to say the least.

I finally took that northern Cali road trip I’ve been putting off for years; the place Kerouac and Henry Miller made famous. I touched down in Yosemite, Big Sur, The Redwoods, Eureka and SF. Just being in these places gave me a profound sense of pride that tugs at your senses and begs the question of the important things in life. It helps put the pieces into place. It’s these moments in life that truly change your life. Of course this particular stretch of land is a rite of passage for any writer or artist looking for inspiration and some creative rejuvenation. Scratch that, inspiration is something every person should discover—it’s fueled by desire. And without inspiration there is no creation. Every great artist, music producer, writer, etc., felt inspired on some level. It’s what sets their creative brilliance apart from others.

I hope you find your inspiration
