The Do Lab never ceases to amaze us. If you haven’t had a chance to catch them at Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle or Burning Man we highly recommend checking out what they’re capable of. This year they bring their vision of Valentine’s Day to Los Angeles with the return of the 5th annual art and music festival, Lucent L’Amour 2010. This year’s festival is expanding to include both the indoor and outdoor areas of The Shrine Expo Hall and will feature two stages of live music, DJs, burlesque and vaudeville performances, as well as live art creations and installations.
Everything The Do Lab does is very interactive – there will be a feast for your eyes all throughout the festival. In addition to a huge art gallery curated by Mike Russek and Deborah Vogt featuring the work of dozens of artists, there will be live mural painting by The Mac and Retna as well as a silent art auction with proceeds going to art and music supplies for under-funded schools. There will also be theatrical performances, unusual craft vendors, munchies and a full bar for those 21+ (although the event is 18+).
Most exciting are the beats and the BASS. Breakin it down will be Bassnectar, N.A.S.A, Stanton Warriors, Yard Dog Road Show, Lucent Dossier Experience, Beats Antique, Lazer Sword, Lynx & Janover and Patricio. Check out the website and grab 2 free tracks they are offering: The Pixies – Where is My Mind (Bassnectar Remix) and N.A.S.A. – Music (LA Riots Remix).
We can’t even begin to explain it, you’ll have to see it for yourself. Don’t miss Lucent L’Amour 2010 this Valentine’s Weekend!
