The Standard, Downtown LA will be displaying art that features installations and projections utilizing the medium of light in celebration of this year’s Autumn Lights LA 09. Visitors of the hotel can enjoy the works of artists Jerico Woggon, Desirae Hepp and Lustre in the lobby as well as artists Lilli Muller and Rick Mendoza’s video projections on the rooftop from September 17th-19th.
Woggon’s Black Light installation will feature a multicolored light display on 6th Street’s wall, the side wall entrance and lobby section of the property alongside Hepp’s Textile Lit art work which is inspired by the natural intelligence of patterns and our innate reactions to light, waves and bioluminescence. Creative group Lustre’s video piece will seek to immerse the audience by engaging audio with visual experiences that blur the line between art, design, and film. Photographer Rick Mendoza and Los Angeles artist Lilli Muller‘s videos will be shown on the rooftop throughout the evening on September 19th.
Los Angeles, California – In partnership with the City of Los Angeles Parks and Recreation and Art2, Autumn Lights LA 09 debuts at Pershing Square Park as an annual event in Downtown Los Angeles, Saturday, September 19, 2009. This event is curated and produced by Downtown Los Angeles artist, Lilli Muller and is a day to night art festival where visitors are introduced to exhibits from cutting edge Los Angeles based artist and performances by musicians and entertainers.
