Bodega and Rockport fused to produce this project based on a set of shared ideals. Since their inception both Massachusetts based companies have been in search of creating the perfect shoe. Rockport, founded nearly 40 years ago out of the back of a VW minibus kept a simple philosophy in mind; the perfect shoe had yet to be created. Keeping with this quest the design team at Bodega added subtle features to enhance a classic silhouette. The result of this project is two new models, Town & Country which are based off of Rockport’s classic boat shoe the Bayshore.
The Town concept re-imagines the traditional buttoned-up character of Bostonians focusing on style drawing from the hues of winter. A melton wool collar lined with plaid flannel insulates and contrasts against waterproof premium leathers enhancing Rockport’s legacy of comfort engineered footwear.
More on footwear and images….
The Country concept adapts the Bayshore to the field for the upcoming spring thaw. The gusseted tongue reinforces the waterproof premium leather uppers which are contrasted with brass tipped boot laces and eyelets. The footbed features an ultra soft pig skin lining helping the sole conform to the contours of the foot ensuring all day comfort.
The project releases March 14th at Bodega.
