Here’s a treat for all you Serato DJs out there. Nike+ Sport Music has teamed up with Serato White Label Delivery Network for the first official 12” control vinyl picture-disc. It was done to celebrate DJ A-Trak’s debut album, Running Man: Nike+ Original Run. If you haven’t heard it yet, it’s available exclusively in the Nike Sport Music section of the iTunes Store for $9.99. Purchase it here.
Just to make sure you go, “I gotta’ have this!” the package comes complete with custom artwork from the Brooklyn-based artist Dust La Rock. The design features Dust La Rock’s newly-iconic “Mr. A” figure, lifted from the cover of the A-Trak Original Run album. The collaboration also features downloads from the Running Man: Nike+ Original Run album, and includes the single “Say Whoa” and the exclusive “My Time” w/ Kid Cudi.
As A-Trak explains: “It’s the first official Serato picture disk on their whitelabel.net label. I used to test out their beta version way before it was available commercially—so now it all came full circle.”
There are only 1,000-promo copies of this limited-edition control vinyl picture disc floating around. The majority of those will be shipped worldwide to Serato and Whitelabel.net DJs. If that isn’t you, though, all hope isn’t lost—if you want to get your mitts on one of these the kind folks were nice enough to hold back a few (meaning 2) for us here at BPM to give-a-way.
The only question now is how? Hmmmmmm… Ok I got it. Email me a photo (jpeg, please) of your home DJ set up. I could care less if you’re rocking a pimped out rig or if your shit is dormroom busted and you sit on the floor to play your records—I just want to see how you’re doing it. Feruary 6 is the cut off, so email me your shit now.
