Diplo’s Heaps Decent

Heaps Decent is not your mom and dad’s music program. The brainchild of DJ/producer Diplo, Heaps Decent provides music workshops to kids living in some of the most impoverished areas around the globe. Founded in Australia in 2007 with fellow DJs Andrew Levins and Nina Agzarian, Heaps Decent provides lessons to kids in the hopes of inspiring a new generation of DJs and producers. As Diplo believes, “We are planting the seeds so that tomorrow DJs can continue to play music from places we’ve never been,” and at the same time, providing hope where there might not be any. “In my particular line of work, it just makes sense and it’s something I can do easily that makes a big impact. I just want to raise awareness about the things we all take for granted,” continues Diplo. Check out King Sisters feat. :pase rock: “Koori Girls” which is one of the tracks created by the Heaps Decent workshops. 50% of proceeds go towards funding the Heaps Decent effort. Here it is below… but support the cause and go buy it from iTunes. (Aldo Davalos)
